Effective October 1, 2026, Montelektro will introduce several changes to its management and organizational structure. Mario Županović has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, bringing nearly three decades of company experience to the role.
Mr. Županović joined Montelektro in 1995 and has held several key positions throughout his career, including Automation Engineer, Project Manager, Division Director, and, most recently, Chief Operating Officer.
He succeeds Edvin Šafranko, one of Montelektro’s five co-owners, who has served as Chief Executive Officer for nearly nine years and will remain actively involved in the company’s management, continuing to serve on the Management Board and the Board of Directors.
Mr. Šafranko’s connection with Montelektro dates back almost to the company’s beginnings. He first began collaborating with the newly established company in 1991, shortly after graduating from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, while working at the Faculty. In 1993, he officially joined Montelektro as an employee.
New Responsibilities for Long-Standing Team Members
The changes taking effect on October 1st also include several other leadership appointments.
Maja Sohora is taking over as Head of the Electrical Engineering Department. An experienced electrical engineer, Sohora has been with Montelektro since 2008, when she joined the company after graduating from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. She previously served as Deputy Head of the department.
She succeeds Lukša Padovan, who will take over as Director of the Quality Control Division.
Quality control has already been among his responsibilities during his 27 years with Montelektro.
Zoran Černeka, a Project Manager and Engineer who has been part of the Montelektro team since 2007, is also taking on a new role. After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, he joined the company and has since gained extensive experience in project management and engineering.
As of October 1, Mr. Černeka will serve as Deputy Director of the Industrial Engineering Division, which encompasses projects in the cement, minerals, and steel industries.
The new appointments bring experienced, long-standing members of the Montelektro team into key leadership roles, building on their extensive knowledge of the company and its operations while supporting its continued development.
