The project, entitled “Expansion and Modernization of Montelektro d.o.o.’s Capacities through Investment in the Construction and Equipping of a Building for the Development and Implementation of Information Systems,” was implemented with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Economy under the Investment Promotion Act, combining the company’s own funds with partial financing from commercial banks.
In addition to constructing the new building alongside the company’s existing office and production facility, the investment included the acquisition of new equipment, machinery, and software licenses essential for developing new technological solutions.
Through this investment, Montelektro aims to further strengthen its position as one of the global technology leaders in industrial automation for the food and beverage industry, particularly brewing, while expanding its presence in other sectors, including additional branches of the food industry and the cement and minerals industries, where the company has also established a strong track record.
Edvin Šafranko, Member of the Management Board, presented the project’s key features. The expanded business facility includes modern office spaces, dining and relaxation areas, as well as warehouse and logistics facilities. It occupies a site of 10,666 m² and has a total gross floor area of more than 9,000 m².
Construction lasted exactly two years and was completed almost entirely in line with the planned schedule. AB Gradnja, a construction company based in Karlovac, served as the main contractor and played a key role in the successful and timely completion of the project.
The new facility provides room for further business growth, offering a comfortable working environment for more than 300 employees. Thanks to the Ministry’s support and the project’s compliance with the Investment Promotion Act, the company expects to fully recover its investment through corporate income tax relief associated with the investment by 2034.
Addressing the guests, Zvonimir Himelreich, Vice- President of the Management Board, highlighted the excellent cooperation established throughout the project with the relevant government authorities, particularly the Ministry of Economy, the local community, and construction partners.
He also emphasized that the project had not disrupted the company’s relationships with its customers, who continue to recognize Montelektro as a reliable provider of advanced technological solutions.
Himelreich stressed that Montelektro’s greatest strength lies in its people and the company culture it has nurtured for more than three decades. Knowledge, experience, teamwork, and the generous sharing of expertise are the foundations of the company’s success. In his view, these qualities are the key reasons why Montelektro has maintained such a strong presence in global markets for so many years, successfully competing with some of the world’s largest technology companies.
During his address, Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar stated:
“Croatia has companies whose knowledge and technology enable them to compete successfully in global markets. Montelektro is a clear example of this. More than 5,000 completed projects in over 100 countries demonstrate the international success of Croatian experts and their technological solutions.
“What is particularly valuable is that Montelektro is building on this success through a new investment right here in Croatia. This investment project, worth €11.8 million and expected to create 17 new jobs, has received our support under the Investment Promotion Act.
“This is an example of how the Government of the Republic of Croatia supports the development of domestic industry and investment by Croatian entrepreneurs. Croatia needs both foreign investment and strong domestic companies that develop their own technologies, create new jobs, and compete successfully in international markets.”
