As a longstanding partner of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at Zagreb University (FER), which played an active role in enhancing educational standards in Croatia, but also was an important factor in the company’s development, Montelektro proudly sponsored the event that marked 100 years of continuous activity of the Faculty’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation (ZESA). The event brought together an impressive array of experts from the Croatian electrical industry, hailing from both the academic realm and the business sector. These professionals have played a significant role in shaping ZESA’s influence and leadership within the Croatian electrical industry.
For several years, Montelektro has been also a premium partner of the PLC Hackathon organized by EESTEC and supported by FER, which gathers engineering students for a 24-hour competition to solve programming-related PLC tasks.
The task was co-authored by Dr. sc. Marko Kovačević, a professor from FER, and Damir Habuš, an experienced engineer and Team Leader at Montelektro. In addition to a financial award, the top-performing team was rewarded with a visit to the Heineken Brewery in Karlovac, where they had a unique opportunity to observe the beer production process.
In addition to the previously mentioned events, Montelektro sponsored the Bronze Award named after Josip Lončar. This award is presented annually by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) to the automation student who achieved the highest grades during the previous school year, in recognition of the faculty’s anniversary. This year, the Montelektro award was given to Lovro Benjak, presented by CEO Mr. Edvin Šafranko.
Montelektro’s contribution to the growth of electrical engineering in Croatia is, among other, a result of partnering with various educational institutions, including the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Rijeka. This faculty recently celebrated its 65th anniversary of successfully educating engineers.
On this occasion, Montelektro proudly sponsored an award for its top electrical engineering student from the previous academic year, Arian Ban. The award was presented by Operations Director, Mr. Damir Galović.
As a socially responsible company, Montelektro continues to actively support other initiatives organized by technical faculties in Croatia in the school year ahead.
