Supporting education on process control systems

January, 13 2022

In 2021, Montelektro continued supporting various projects related to education on automation and electrical engineering.

Among many company’s sponsorships during the last year, the most valuable is the procurement of process control system equipment and related engineering support, whose estimated worth is 70.000 HRK, and which was donated to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb.

The sponsorship has included the donation of HP server computer, Siemens PLC, and training for work on the ProLeiT brewmaxx system.
ProLeit, which donated licenses for brewmaxx, also contributed to equipping the laboratory.

Although the faculty lab has been equipped with the Siemens PLC devices for student exercises, it has not provided complete functionalities due to the lack of a project realization program tool.

The system is designed as a true copy of how it works in real situations. With the permanent remote support of Montelektro’s experts, students can gain practical knowledge and experience in process control systems.

Students and professors can use the new brewmaxx automation system to test various automation projects they prepare for companies or within their science and research work and write their seminar papers or master’s thesis. The first master on PLC programming was done in June 2021, only a few months after the whole equipment was installed and commissioned.

Having an opportunity to learn about such an advanced solution within the study program is not the only benefit. It also provides a better overview of Montelektro’s scope of work and job opportunities that the company offers students of computing and electrical engineering during their studies and after graduation.
